The I.DOT HT system non-contact liquid handling approach is both precise and accurate. It employs eight positive pressure channels that are independently controlled to generate droplets ranging from 8 to 50 nanoliters. These droplets are produced from a small nozzle located at the bottom of each well. With the capacity to generate up to 100 droplets per second, each channel provides users with control and speed while minimizing the risk of cross-contamination.

The I.DOT HT system comes with a unique feature called DropDetection, which is patented and highly efficient in detecting and counting every droplet dispensed during a single run. This tool is simple yet powerful and enables easy droplet verification. DropDetection utilizes a circuit board that is mounted under the I.DOT HT source tray, with 384 barriers that help detect every droplet generated from each source plate position. It identifies changes in light intensity to detect droplets as they pass through the light barrier. Once the dispensing is complete, DropDetection generates color-coded and text-file-based results, making it easier to analyze and interpret the data obtained.
I.DOT’s software Assay Studio optimizes protocol creation, and users can easily import CSV files to create more complex protocols. It is automation-friendly and integrates with any third-party scheduler.
